Three Spring Days

Bob and Guide Buddy on Story Lake

Bob and Guide Buddy on Story Lake

The boys came back for three epic days of Spring fishing in Yellowstone Country. We fished 2 still-water fisheries and 2 different sections of the Yellowstone River in early May this year. May can be a funky time because you never really know what you are going to get. Day 1- The weather was fantastic with sun, warmth, and dry flies. Day 2- It was snowing, raining, and we ventured out into the elements on one of our amazing private lakes…. It was totally worth the effort! Day 3- We split our time between the lake and the river. It was windy, but we fished through it. Caught some on dries, some on nympths, and saw several Bald Eagles who were fishing, too!

Fishing trips are about a lot more than just catching fish. Trips become adventures that you embark on with your friends and loved ones. You learn a lot about the sport of fly-fishing through different techniques, tell bad jokes, and create memories that last a lifetime.

Day 1

Day 1

On this trip we had one very experienced angler, one intermediate angler, and one first time angler. All three dudes learned something new. That is what is so amazing about the sport of fly-fishing…. we are all always still learning. When you think you may have mastered this art….. there is always something more…. a skill to practice…. a technique to improve…. a joke to learn…. a cast to place. It may be an old saying, but, really, you can never step in the same water twice. It is always changing.
