Great Fall Fishing Weather
Our waters continue to produce great fishing days. September was a fantastic month where with the hopper season seemingly never coming to an end. Now it is October 1, and we are in somewhat of a transition period with our fly selections. The hopper bite has definitely slowed down. When fishing the Yellowstone River look to throw smaller dry flies such as: Purple Haze (12-20), Copper Haze (12-18), Adams Cripples (16-20), Griffiths Gnats (16-20), etc. If you are having a hard time seeing your bug, you can always drop your small fly off of a bigger dry fly. If you see a sip around your bigger bug, set your hook!
We have been blessed with some amazing weather through most of September. The mornings are a little chilly now, but we have been seeing low to mid 70s in the afternoons. Do you like having the river to yourself? This is a great time of year to come out and fish. Our weather forecast looks great through the middle of October. Do bring some layers for the chilly mornings, and we do recommend renting waders in October for maximum comfort. Give us a call! We have 30 more days of fishing in Yellowstone National Park! The fishing season ends the first Sunday in November which is November 1st!
See you in Montana!
